Anile-ECMI Prize for Mathematics in Industry
The Anile-ECMI Prize for Mathematics in Industry was established honouring Professor Angelo Marcello Anile (1948-2007) of Catania, Italy. The prize was jointly funded by ECMI and by the Angelo Marcello Anile Association up to 2023, and it is funded by ECMI and by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics – ITWM Kaiserslautern since 2026. It consists of a monetary prize of 2500 € and an invitation to give a talk at the ECMI conference. The prize is given to a young researcher for an excellent PhD thesis in industrial mathematics successfully submitted at a European university.
To apply for the prize, a copy of the PhD thesis (written in English, and defended during 2023-(early) 2026), together with a letter supporting the application, should be sent as PDF-File to anile-prize@ecmi-indmath.org with “Anile-ECMI and your name” in the subject line to arrive by February 28, 2026. Also, a scanned document (e.g. for the PhD diploma) is necessary to verify that the thesis was submitted successfully.
The prize will be given in the Award Ceremony of ECMI 2026.
