SUMMARY:Model Reduction and Surrogate Modeling (MORe 2026)
DESCRIPTION:  \nPolitecnico di Milano\, November 2-6\, 2026. \nThis 5-day conference will bring together the international community of computational scientists\, engineers\, mathematicians\, and domain experts from industry\, the national laboratories and academia to address the topic of model reduction and surrogate modeling for high-dimensional complex systems. Model reduction and surrogate modeling is a field of research that combines applied and computational mathematics\, computer science and many engineering domains. Approximating high-dimensional complex systems with low-dimensional efficient surrogate models requires rigorous mathematical analysis and algorithms. The issue of data sparsity and the multiscale nature of the data has been at the forefront of recent developments\, while building on a 30-year history of increasingly complex reduced-model development. Moreover\, methods that extrapolate well in time and when input parameter change\, are of great interest to this community. \nThe conference merges activities of the two independent conference series MoRePaS and MODRED. The goal is to foster an international exchange of new concepts and ideas related to the following topics: \n\nParametric model order reduction (MOR)\nSystem-theoretic model reduction methods and frequency-domain methods\nMachine learning and model order reduction (in particular when data is sparse)\nNon-intrusive and data driven approaches; hybrid data and physics based model reduction\nTensor methods and kernel methods\nNonlinear Model Reduction (e.g. geometric approaches on manifolds)\nMOR for problems with poor Kolmogorov N-width decay (e.g. transport phenomena\, registration/OT methods)\nLocalized MOR and multi-scale problems\nRandomized methods; MOR for uncertainty quantification\nModel reduction for optimization\, control\, inverse problems & data assimilation\nDynamic\, adaptive and on the fly reduced approximations\, error estimation\nStructure-preserving and energy-based MOR (e.g. Hamiltonian or port-Hamiltonian systems)\nMOR for multiphysics/multiphase problems\nModel reduction for nonlinear bifurcating PDEs\nModel order reduction for predictive digital twins\nModel reduction software and benchmarks\nMOR for industrial applications and sustainable development

SUMMARY:Workshop ``Advances in low rank and model reduction methods for PDEs''
DESCRIPTION:Rome\, Italy\, November 10-13 2026 \nThis workshop focuses on recent advances in low-rank techniques and model order reduction methods for the numerical approximation of partial differential equations. We will address theoretical developments\, algorithmic strategies\, and efficient computational frameworks for the simulation of large-scale and high-dimensional PDE problems\, with applications ranging from parametric and multiscale models to uncertainty quantification and data-driven modeling. By bringing together leading experts and early-career researchers\, the workshop aims to stimulate discussions on current challenges and emerging directions in reduced-order modeling. \nThe event is organized within the activities of the last thematic semester “PDE: Models\, Analysis and Numerical Analysis”\, as part of the Excellence Department initiative (2023-2027) in the area of Mathematics and Computer Science\, funded by the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes.
