Call per contributi al n. 2 di Matematica&Impresa

Caro Collega,
con questa lettera ti sollecitiamo ad esprimere una tua manifestazione di interesse a contribuire alla realizzazione del numero 2, 2010 della rivista Matematica e Impresa.

Nata nel 2006 per iniziativa della SIMAI, uscita in forma rinnovata nel 2008 e ora al suo secondo numero, questa pubblicazione intende evidenziare il potenziale applicativo della matematica attraverso la presentazione di significative "storie di successo" nate dalla collaborazione tra soggetti universitari e centri di ricerca impegnati nel campo delle applicazioni della matematica, e soggetti pubblici e privati attivi nella realtà economica ed industriale.

We are pleased to announce that the 2010 SIMAI Annual Meeting (SIMAI 2010), will be held at Cagliari University, June 21-25. SIMAI 2010 is being held jointly with SEMA (Spanish Society for Applied Mathematics / Sociedad Española de Matemática Aplicada).

The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing the issues and the advances in applied mathematics and applications of mathematics to industry, technology, environment, cultural heritage, biology and society as well as to promote and stimulate interdisciplinary research in applied mathematics and to foster interactions with industry. The scientific program will consists of plenary invited lectures, minisymposia, round tables, and contributed papers.

Faculty Positions in Computational Mathematics

The EPFL announces the creation of a new Mathematics Institute in Computational Science and Engineering (MATHICSE). In this framework EPFL is planning to make a number of appointments at the assistant, associate professor or full professor level.

7th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics

ICIAM 2011 will highlight the most recent advances in the discipline and demonstrate their applicability to science, engineering, and industry. In addition to the traditional, strong focus on applied mathematics, the Congress will emphasize industrial applications and computational science. An integrated program will highlight the many outstanding contributions of applied mathematics. ICIAM 2011 will also be an opportunity to demonstrate to young researchers and graduate students the vast potential of mathematics. The Congress is being planned by the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society (CAIMS), the Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS), and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
